The objective of the Finance division is to manage every financial aspect of Santander in the most effective way, maintaining optimal relations with investors, regulators and supervisors. We’re looking for a Treasury Accountant to join us and interpret and implement the policies and procedures of the department. You’ll provide advice and service to other departments as well as performing key reconciliations and controls, so you’ll need to have a thorough understanding or have worked within a Treasury Finance / Product Control function or Market Risk function.
The difference you’ll make
- Carrying out reconciliation processes for the business unit and ensure that it fully complies with AORP policy and Risk policies’ control objectives
- Identifying and highlighting areas of concern to management in an expedient manner
- Performing accounting processes that are required to ensure correct representation of assets, liabilities, and profit & loss
- Ensuring that there is a full audit trail for all accounting and reconciliation processes, and ensure that the control infrastructure around the reconciliation process is robust
- Supporting Front Office on transaction and strategy booking
- Working with the System Development teams in Treasury Accounting to deliver change, system enhancements and put processes and controls in place for new business activity
What you’ll bring
- Qualified or part qualified accountant – ACCA/ACA/CIMA/equivalent
- Product accounting knowledge
It would also be nice for you to have
- An Interest in Treasury functions and Wholesale market business units
- Financial services or banking experience
- Strong analytical skill and proficient the in the use of excel
- Be able to review current processes and suggest changes to improve efficiency of tasks performed

This role is based in London, Triton Square and our current expectation is at least 2 days in an office every week.
This is an 18-month Fixed contract.
