The role – Treasury Officer

As a Treasury Officer you will Support the Treasury and Operations Manager and ensure that the Group’s financial obligations are met while minimising the Group’s exposure to risk.

What you’ll do

KEY ACTIVITIES:

Reporting:

  • Month end postings for interest and capital payments, accrued interest and Special Interest bearing (SIB).
  • To monitor & report Group bank balances and provide weekly and monthly cashflow forecast with commentary.
  • To prepare month end journals on all Treasury functions and assist with budgets and quarterly forecast
  • To assist in the preparation of interest budgets and quarterly interest forecasts.
  • To provide information for annual Statutory Accounts preparation and audit.
  • To reconcile all balance sheet accounts relating to loan debt, banking and investment in subsidiaries.

Loan Management:

  • To manage the Association’s loan portfolio including preparing monthly loan schedule, interest payment schedule and capital repayment schedule.
  • To monitor and process all interest and capital repayments and ensure these are both settled in a timely manner and verified as correct.
  • To prepare monthly covenant calculation for each funder and to ensure all covenants are satisfied.

Intercompany relationship:

  • To understand the relationships between companies within the Group including intercompany interest payable, interest receivable and intercompany lending and to ensure that it is in line with the intercompany borrowing agreement.
  • To transfer funds between companies within the Group ensuring that there is no breach of agreement.
  • To monitor intercompany investments and to ensure that investment in, and money owed, to group companies is reconciled.
  • To maintain relationship with Group’s bankers and ensure that the Groups banking needs are met which will include maintaining bank mandates, setting up and providing access to internet banking and maintaining open credit agreements with various bank branches, and other ad hoc tasks.
  • To assist Treasury & Operations Manager in financial operations including assisting in statutory submissions and returns.

What you’ll need

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Degree level or equivalent.
  • Current membership (student / part / full) and AAT Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant in CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • Previous Treasury experience is desirable.
  • Understanding of social housing or other regulated sector is desirable.
  • Familiar with month end, budget, forecast and year end processes.
