The Role & Responsibilities
- Treasury Back Office / Settlements activities including but not limited to;
- Prompt confirmation and recording of transactions, verifying the accuracy of trade details and settlement instructions.
- Timely and accurate settlement of financial instruments, co-ordinating with counterparties, custodian and other relevant parties.
- Timely and accurate settlement and reconciliation of coupon payments
- Preform daily bank account reconciliations for a number of bank accounts, verifying the movement in funds in each bank statement agrees to internal expectations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Responsible for the accurate recording and reporting of instruments and daily activity within the Treasury Management System.
- Daily collateral management involving collating valuations, reconciliations, accurate recording in the Treasury Management System, responding to/ issuing margin calls to counterparties and producing daily reporting.
- Production of daily / weekly and monthly reporting for financial instruments.
- Production of daily liquidity position
- Production of daily exposure monitoring against internal limits.
- Maintenance/ development of the Treasury Management System.
- Preparation of month-end schedules to support the balance sheet; ensuring all attributes of the financial assets and liabilities are recorded accurately.
- Assessment of new product / instrument proposals.
- Ensuring process documents are kept up to date with any relevant changes made on a regular basis.
- Project work in line with departmental activities.
- Liaise with and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Risk awareness and reporting/ escalation
- Ad-hoc duties to support the Treasury Finance team.
The Person
- Educated to A-Level or equivalent with proven experience in a Treasury Operations or Back Office function
- Knowledge of Treasury Management Systems
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite – including Word, Access & Power-point
- Enthusiastic “can do” attitude
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and able to work extended hours when required
- Accuracy & attention to detail
- Establishes effective working relationships at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
