Job Title:UK Compliance Monitoring Analyst
Location: London (Hybrid)
Role Objective:
To support the Group Head of Compliance Monitoring & Reporting and UK Management in actively and effectively managing Group Compliance monitoring activities with a main focus on UK monitoring activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• To contribute to the development of the UK Monitoring aspects of the Group Compliance Monitoring Plan , and the Monitoring Plan more broadly
• To perform ad-hoc and thematic monitoring activities to assess the effectiveness of 1st LoD compliance controls, adherence to internal regulatory policies, standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
• To provide monitoring results and reports in a timely and accurately fashion in coordination with Legal, Compliance, and UK Management
• To assist in the reporting of monitoring based metrics to the wider Compliance function
• To actively contribute to the Compliance Team meetings to promote effective compliance assurance within Aspen
• To assist and support with the development, enhancement and maintenance of Aspen's Compliance control framework
• To help develop and maintain monitoring policies and procedures
• To report monitoring results and monitor business actions according to Compliance and Group Risk Management Frameworks
• To assist with the identification where the Aspen regulated entities do not have sufficient coverage or controls in their policies and procedures and to make recommendations to strengthen them
• Develop strong relationships with Aspen stakeholders - in particular Compliance, Legal, Risk, Internal Audit, Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Finance, and HR
• Promote a sound culture of compliance by raising awareness of compliance matters and encouraging commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• To provide, or assist with, the provision of assessing Compliance risks or testing Compliance controls
• To provide input to Internal Audit as appropriate or required from time to time and contribute to Thematic reviews conducted as part of the Monitoring Plan or Group Compliance Plan as appropriate or required from time to time.

Requirements & Skills:

• Preferred knowledge of the FCA / PRA / international rulebooks and Lloyd's requirements that are relevant to UK based insurers
• Understanding of UK Compliance Monitoring fundamentals and approach
• Preferred knowledge of Internal Audit testing and Compliance Risk Management concepts
• Good communication skills (both oral and written) and ability to effectively interact/influence with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on collaboration
• Ability to use identify streamlining by use of technology and manage application
• Ability to manage base framework requirements, produce MI and ensure queries closed in timescales
• Recent Compliance Monitoring / auditing of compliance related topics within the UK and Lloyd's Market from either an insurer or broker
• Experience in actively managing internal relationships
• Experience of workpaper maintenance, to support identified issues and deliver them with good communication skills
• Good knowledge and use of Microsoft systems such as Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
