HSBC Market & Securities Services (MSS) provides comprehensive global, regional and domestic fund services including fund administration, global custody and sub-custody settlement and services. Securities Lending Operations is a dynamic department that works with partners across the HSBC Global Banking and Markets business to deliver Securities Lending solutions to clients.

We are currently seeking an individual to join this team in the role of Uncleared Margin Valuation Analyst

The primary purpose will be to work within the Uncleared Margin Valuations team of Markets Security Services Operations. You will be expected to control, review, monitor, and report the BCBS 261 initial margin regulatory requirement at regional and group level, for HSBC client’s purpose. The daily exchange of Initial Margin under the BCBS 261 requirement has been Live since 01/09/2016. Hence, the requirement to engage in the extensive development and running of the end-to-end process flow of the daily IM exchange.

In this role, you will:

•    Review and understand the regulatory framework for BCBS 261whilst working with stakeholders on the End-to-End delivery of the regulatory initial margin
•    Work with MSS Operations, Collateral Management, Front Office, Legal and Quantitative Analyst stakeholders to assess the readiness and effectiveness of onboarding UMR new clients
•    Work as part of a global team split across 3 locations and participate in the enhancing and contributing to the governance framework maintained to manage regulatory IM requirements. 
•    Be involved in reviewing and assessing the impact of regulatory or internal changes impacting the IM calculations on new client’s portfolio

Request

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

•    To be very accustomed to the regulatory requirements and framework changes under uncleared margin rules is essential
•    Prior experience in a Legal Team covering industry initiatives set out by the Basel Committee (e.g. FRTB or BCS 261)
•    Market Risk Management experience at associate level or experience is preferred
•    Possess an analytical mindset, the ability to work to deadlines and to manage competing priorities whilst demonstrating diligence as well as strong investigative skills 
•    Strong knowledge of derivative products (FX, Equity and Fixed Income) would be an advantage
