Be part of building Scotland's future
Join us and work on real projects on a scale that you never thought possible before graduation. As part of our Undergraduate Summer Placement Scheme, you can expect interesting, vital, hands-on work with experienced people that you can learn from.
You could be meeting with our clients – the companies innovating and scaling to improve Scotland economically. You’ll work with colleagues from across our extensive network. Crucially, you’ll get real-world experience to complement your studies. By the time you go back to university, you’ll have played an important role in helping us secure a prosperous future for Scotland.
We are Scottish Enterprise – Scotland's national and international economic development agency. We work to transform the Scottish economy. What we do really matters: from helping to create high-value jobs and boosting productivity to growing Scotland’s wealth. It’s success you could soon be part of.
The opportunity
Each year, our High Growth Entrepreneurship team produces the Scottish Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Guide: a directory of all the support available in Scotland for new and seasoned entrepreneurs. We work closely with organisations like Scottish EDGE, Converge and Techscaler, as well as universities, accelerators and many others to help Scottish entrepreneurs thrive.
We want our important annual guide to reach even more people – and that’s what you’ll help us do in this brand-new role. As part of the team that designs and delivers the guide, you’ll play a key role in making it as comprehensive and accessible as possible.
The role
You’ll explore ways to digitise the guide so that it’s not only more accessible, but also easier to update. Reviewing and making recommendations for the refresh of the guide, you’ll also contact featured organisations to make sure everything in our database is still current. From here, you’ll steer the guide through to publication – working closely with a specialist in online directory design.
Once the guide is published, you’ll support its launch by working on social media announcements and other marketing collateral. There will also be opportunities for you to be involved in the wider work of the High Growth Entrepreneurship team at project events, as we support entrepreneurs from start-up to scale-up.
Who we're looking for
Crucially, you’ll bring us a genuine interest in marketing and design, plus a passion for entrepreneurship. Some technical knowledge of basic web design would be useful, but these are skills you can learn on the job. You will also need:
- Excellent attention to detail, strong document creation skills and a flair for design
- To be highly organised and able to produce excellent work at pace
- Self-motivation and an ability to work without too much supervision
- An interest in digital assets and how these are created
How to apply
If you're interested in this role, please complete an application form by 24 April 2024.
Interview dates
Interviews will be held on 7 and 8 May.
