The Offshore Renewables and Upstream Energy Team is part of the wider Natural Resources & Construction Team in London. The risks covered are both the operational and construction of Offshore Renewables and Upstream Energy assets. Reporting to the Underwriting Team Leader, you will evaluate and approve profitable new and renewal business in order to achieve Line of Business (LoB) targets. You will engage in negotiations regarding participation, pricing, and terms and conditions for insurance coverage as well as taking ownership of accounts and clients, ensuring effective management and satisfaction. You will also cultivate and sustain relationships with both brokers and clients to foster ongoing collaboration and business development.
- Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet financial targets.
- Negotiate participation, pricing, and terms with brokers.
- Proactively manage capacity and evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation.
- Adhere to Line of Business (LoB) governance framework and utilise global pricing tools.
- Ensure contract certainty and accurate policy documentation issuance.
- Maintain organised files for each risk and transaction, supporting policy administration.
- Proactively engage in business acquisition, client retention, and represent Allianz Commercial externally, while fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Proven underwriting expertise: Demonstrated success in underwriting profitable business within Line of Business (LoB), backed by a minimum of 3 years experience.
- Broker relationships: Established and maintained peer-level relationships with brokers, showcasing a strong network within the industry.
- Market understanding: In-depth knowledge of regional and local LoB insurance markets, coupled with a robust grasp of the competitor landscape and legal/regulatory framework.
- Global matrix organization experience: Worked effectively in a complex, global matrix organization, showcasing adaptability and versatility.
- Risk assessment and management: Proficient in assessing inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to LoB, emphasizing a proactive approach to risk management.
- Pricing and market management: Analytical skills applied to analyze current performance against benchmarks, ensuring alignment with market dynamics, business needs, and customer requirements.
- Policy expertise and communication skills: Comprehensive understanding of policy administration life cycle, including contract drafting, interpretation, and effective communication skills to express ideas clearly and influence others in the absence of executive authority.
