About the Nursing Home:

This service is a purpose built Nursing Home providing accommodation for a large number residents. It is divided into seven wings, all accessible from ground level. Carers provide expert general nursing, dementia and continuing health care with twenty four hour nursing cover throughout the home. The home contracts with two doctors for specialist medical treatment for all residents.

The role of a Unit Nurse Manager within the Nursing Home involves:

• Being responsible for leading, directing and supporting the Nursing and Care team
• Managing rotas, ensuring there is sufficient cover at all times
• Actively recruit and maintain good staffing levels
• Mentoring junior members of staff
• Ensuring all staff complete mandatory and required training
• Carrying out staff supervisions and appraisals
• Ensuring Unit is compliant with CQC and internal policies
• Managing and monitor medication processes and compliance
• Completing all relevant audits to ensure internal and external compliance

Requirements for the Unit Nurse Manager role:

• Nursing qualification (RGN/RMN/RNLD)
• Active NMC PIN
• Clear DBS
• Evidence of continued professional development
• Good working knowledge of CQC regulations
• Proven track record of leading a Nursing team and delivery of person-centred care, including care planning
