An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife to join the senior leadership team on the Wythenshawe site within Saint Mary's , as a Ward Manager on the Birth Centre for a 12 month Secondment.
The successful applicant will lead an empowered and dedicated Birth Centre team to deliver outstanding care at every opportunity.
The successful post-holder will work closely with the adjoining Labour Ward manager to encourage working as an intrapartum team'.
Maternity services at Saint Mary's Hospital provide women with primary, secondary and tertiary obstetric services. Saint Mary's Hospital is renowned both regionally and nationally for its research, clinical, fetal and maternal medicine services with a very complex patient population.
You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a driving passion and determination to support the senior midwifery team in line with the exciting national picture of care and compassion, as well as a local picture of quality improvement. The successful candidate will need to have good knowledge and skill base of both midwifery clinical practice and local leadership. Recent experience of low and high risk intrapartum care is essential.
You should be resilient and able to manage complex situations as well as being well organised and innovative. A proven track record of supporting change processes, coupled with good influencing and negotiation skills are key attributes required for this post in order to provide an integrated and effective service focusing on the delivery and assurance of safe, high quality patient care across our services.
