Job Description
Purpose of the role
- Manage the financial reporting for equity investments for IAG’s seed to expansion stage investment portfolio.
- Manage the annual business planning and capital allocation process for the ongoing funding of the IAG Venture Capital Programme.
- Complete financial analysis of potential investments made by Hangar 51.
Accountabilities
- Responsibility for working with the Venture Capital deal lead (usually Head of Ventures / VC Principal) to prepare the financial elements of investment proposals.
- Assessing the business plans of potential investment targets to stress test assumptions and assess potential risk and perform rigorous financial due diligence on investment targets.
- Prepare quarterly reporting on portfolio value using the appropriate performance measures.
- Responsibility for managing the payment processes for suppliers and for VC investments; requesting the appropriate signatures, liaising with payment teams, recording these in the general ledger and enabling the correct reporting within the group’s financial statements.
- Forecast financial spend (in line with IFRS) for potential transformational and sustainability investments. This will include follow-on funding and project finance for sustainability projects.
- Responsibility for measuring and reporting on the strategic impact of the investment portfolio including SAF volumes, performance against mandates, new revenue streams created, and costs avoided.
- Regularly provide updates to IAG Board, MC executives, and key stakeholders on the overall health of the portfolio
- Work in close collaboration with Head of Ventures, Group Head of Innovation, and the governance members of the CVC programme to develop investment strategies, target identification, source deals and build pipeline, develop investment thesis.
- This role may require travel and working from multiple sites/locations. Willing and able to travel to participate in meetings, workshops, and other related activities.

Qualifications
Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Previous Venture Capital, finance, or corporate finance experience.
- Experience of creating or reviewing business plans and strategy at an organisation/ company level.
- Experience of business process (including technology or financial management etc.).
- Experience in research and due diligence preparation - strong research and analytical skills,
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Strong personal ownership for driving performance and exceeding targets.
- Relevant financial or accounting qualifications.
- Spoken and written business in English is required, in Spanish would be desirable. Any other second language also a plus.
