The new School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Central Lancashire is an international, research-active institution, the first facility of its kind to open in the county. We are looking for a veterinary surgeon who is enthusiastic about training the next generation of veterinary surgeons in feline clinical skills, medicine and surgery. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on the development of a comprehensive feline curriculum by sharing your knowledge and experience to ensure competence in the primary-care practitioners of the future.

Based primarily at our Preston campus as part of the academic team, you will be responsible for delivering teaching and assessment around all aspects of feline education, including the handling and clinical assessment of cats housed within our partner institution, Myerscough University Centre. Further off-campus teaching both at Myerscough and at our clinical associate veterinary practices is also possible as our students progress through their education.

You will have a veterinary degree registrable with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and ideally will also have:

  • A sound knowledge and practical experience of veterinary sciences including Feline medicine and clinical skills.
  • Higher education teaching qualification or professional (e.g. PGCHE, FHEA or equivalent), or a commitment to complete within one year of appointment.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent clinical specialisation.
