Permanent contract | £37,336 to £39,186 per annum (Scale J) | 37 hours per week | Vauxhall Centre, Norwich
We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers/Occupational Therapists (grade J and above), Practice Consultants and Team Managers new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should they leave within two years of employment.

A Vision Rehabilitation Practice Consultant position has become available working within Norfolk’s sensory support unit.
The post holder will be responsible for the supervision and caseload management of 7 qualified ROVI’s and hold a small caseload of more complex needs.
The role will enable the successful candidate to develop the service as they feel fit, including raising awareness of sight loss needs across the public sector services. The role involves partnership work with the three major hospitals and high street low vision services.
You must have a DIPHE in Rehabilitation Studies– Visual Impairment or equivalent and at least two years’ experience of working in the field.
The rehab service provides a wide range of equipment and lighting provision as well as mobility & orientation training.
Partnership working is a major area of development, and you will be given opportunities to develop professional interests, technology for example.
You will liaise with colleagues in adult social care, health and the voluntary/independent sectors representing the sensory support service to advocate for people with sight loss.
Effective communication skills are essential as you need to work both positively and sensitively with other professionals, service users, their families, and carers within a framework of legislation and departmental eligibility criteria.
This is an excellent opportunity to become involved in a developing environment and help to shape and establish new efficient ways of working and partnerships with other organisations.

Norwich is the county capital of Norfolk, 120 miles from London and 60 miles from Cambridge. It’s on the edge of the Broads National Park, and a 40-minute drive to the seaside. Norwich is a superb city. It effortlessly mixes outstanding heritage through the ages with modern shopping centres, excellent restaurants, hundreds of cafés and pubs, a superb arts and theatre scene with huge parks and green spaces, canoeing, rowing and sailing.
By train, Norwich to London takes 90 minutes and Cambridge less than an hour. There are also direct train links to the Midlands. Norwich International Airport has regular flights to Schiphol, Amsterdam and from there on to the rest of the world, plus daily internal flights to Scotland, Manchester, Exeter and Dublin.
