We are creating an exciting opportunity for an aspiring co-worker to join our Communication and Interior Design team – or as we like to say, the ComIn team, here at IKEA Exeter.
In the IKEA world, we call this position a Visual Merchandising Team Assistant, but your role and responsibilities will cover so much more.

Expected start date: 20th of April 2024
Telephone interview: 28th March
Face-to-face interview between: 30th March - 1st April.
WHAT WE OFFER:
  • Permanent salaried role starting at £24,500.
  • 39 hours weekly, working 5 days over 7
  • Working hours are between 6am - 3:45pm with occasional nightshift and weekend working based on store projects.
  • Working 1 Sunday ever month

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE:
Preferred skills;
  • Be a values driven hard worker
  • Be able to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, heavy lifting, moving equipment
  • Safe use of hand and power tools for shop fitting
  • Work effectively as part of a team and be motivated to work alone when required
  • Have exceptional organisational skills
  • Have experience/knowledge of and be able to audit fixtures
  • Have attention to detail
  • Be open to learning new skills
  • Meet set deadlines

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:
This is a new role that supports the team in keeping our inspiration levels high, in store, for our guests to enjoy. This role will also give you valuable insights and experience in many areas of the ComIn team’s specialisms.
  • Reporting to Graphics Leader
  • Maintaining a store In Shape As New approach ensuring the IKEA basic merchandising standards are always in place, securing solutions to create a positive first impression for our guests.
  • Organising and collating correct fixtures for projects, supporting with the implementation of this and overseeing the requirements of the fixtures room
  • Supporting our carpenter, graphics and design teams on an ad hoc basis pending the needs of the business.
  • Implementing the store layout plan to create a visually aesthetic shopping experience that both inspires and ensures continued commercial success.
  • Contribute to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing solutions in your local market.
