Job Title: WAN Analyst
Salary: £33,200 - £38,000 ( Depending on experience)
Location : Larne, Northern Ireland

25 days annual leave plus 8 public holidays

Job Summary
Caterpillar are looking to hire full time resource to join the European network team. This position, based in Peterborough, is for a Technical Infrastructure Analyst, primarily providing remote network support services to Caterpillar Facilities in Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME) and globally when required.
The job will involve developing Wide Area Network designs, building the configurations following Caterpillar standards and then deploying those designs. Providing adhoc remote support for network related incidents as and when required, providing “test and turn up” support for remote regional Facilities as well as working with remote facilities personnel to arrange onsite engineer visits.
There is an expectation that some out-of-hours work will be required so flexibility will be expected, joining the on-call rotation for 1 week every 2 months.
What You Will Do:
Maintain the infrastructure of IT systems that support the business to function efficiently.
Design solutions by assessing and aligning the current systems to best practices and comply to federal policies and procedures.
Manage updates, upgrades, and other maintenance tasks in both hardware and software areas, to make the network more efficient, cost-effective, and secure.
What You Have:
A mix of technical skills from the following list:
CISCO CCNA or above or equivalent experience
Hands on experience working with Protocol – OSPF, BGP, HSRP,VRF,
CISCO Identity Services Engine
CISCO DNA Centre
Monitoring tools – SienceLogic,, ThosandEyes, NetBrain VNOC, Netflow CISCO Prime
SilverPeak - SDWAN
CISCO IOS upgrades
Cisco Router and Switch Configuration
Understanding of DNS/ DHCP etc
Working knowledge of…
A ticketing software such as Service Now
Demonstrated use of Microsoft office suite, Putty and other network tools
Familiar with project management methodologies and collaboration with a global team
Hardware Infrastructure: Knowledge of computer architecture and systems programming; ability to design, build and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization.
Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
