An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Clerk/Receptionist to join our team within the Ophthalmology Day Unit, Amman Valley Hospital.
The successful candidate will provide an efficient and comprehensive clerical support service for the Unit thereby supporting the delivery of high quality service to patients and staff within the Unit.
This role will require the ability to work independently and as part of a team, together with excellent communication and organisational skills to prioritise work, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
The post holder will be the first face patients see. They should be polite, professional, enthusiastic, and able to deal with multiple tasks from Nursing staff, Doctors, patients and relatives, both over the phone and in person on the Unit.
The successful candidate will provide administrative/reception support to facilitate the smooth, efficient and effective running of our AMD clinics and Cataract Surgery Sessions, greeting patients, attending and appointing appointments on WPAS, handling of patient notes and tracking of notes, accurate data entry on WPAS and making their follow up appointments as necessary.
We are looking for individuals with good clinical interpersonal and communication skills, who are willing and able to adapt to change and to work individually within their level of competence.
The role involves greeting patients, receive and process referrals into the service and ensure that they are recorded on Welsh PAS.
Current experience of working in a fast paced busy reception environment is desirable.
