Job Vacancy: Warehouse Manager
Our client are looking to recruit a Warehouse Manager who will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse operatives and supervisors to efficiently manage goods in and out, oversee stock management, ensure health and safety compliance, and maintain overall cleanliness of the site. Additionally, responsible for training and development of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations of the warehouse team, ensuring adherence to weekly task lists.
Oversee the accurate receipt, checking, and storage of goods, and ensure timely dispatch of customer orders.
Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse and surrounding areas, conducting regular health and safety checks.
Perform weekly tasks such as fire extinguisher checks and walkaround inspections.
Coordinate with procurement for timely ordering of missing parts for hose kit orders.
Conduct quality checks on received goods to ensure correctness and report discrepancies.
Ensure picking bins are adequately filled for efficient order picking.
Collaborate on the implementation of a new warehouse management system and barcode solution.
Conduct weekly product inventory checks and lead the preparation for the year-end stock count.
Provide training to trainees and apprentices following the training program.
Propose and implement improvements in picking and hose assembly processes.
Monitor and report KPI figures for departmental review.
Participate in audits and comply with internal/external audit requirements.
Ad Hoc Responsibilities:
Engage in ad hoc projects as required.
Identify opportunities for improvement and report risks to the Quality Management System.
Person Specification:
Educational qualifications demonstrating proficiency in English and Maths.
Minimum of two years' experience in warehousing management.
Forklift license and clean full driving license essential.
Technical knowledge of fluid power industry preferred.
Proactive, able to work with limited supervision, and refer matters when needed.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective internal and trainee/apprentice relations.
Demonstrates integrity, leads by example, and focuses on efficiency and customer service improvement.
Effective time management, prioritisation, and target achievement skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
Demonstrates attention to detail and teamwork.
