SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
To effectively control and handle pallets of finished goods for delivery to the customer or transfer to storage. To control and handle all pallets and goods arriving from outside storage through to the relevant department. Control and handle pallets of board through the pile turner and onwards to print.
- To safely operate an FLT truck when loading and unloading vehicles.
- To accurately record all movements of finished goods pallets both in and out of the warehouse.
- To maintain good housekeeping in the area, whilst working to specific work practices within the department.
- Ensure Print machines are supplied with undamaged board in an efficient and effective manner.
- Provide cover for the Departmental Team Leader where agreed.
- To work effectively and efficiently as part of a cohesive team
- Working a shift pattern of 12 hours shifts, including day and night.
· Operations
- To check the quality of all goods pallets to ensure the packaging and pallets are in a satisfactory condition.
- To check all goods pallets have been labelled correctly and record any movements of these pallets internally and externally.
- To ensure all deliveries and transfers are recorded accurately on the system and are accompanied with correct paperwork.
- To unload all transfers of goods from outside storage and record their new location.
- To accurately receipt and label deliveries of board.
- Control and record pallet movements via the scanner
- Operate size 6 and 3b pile turner in order to remove plastic sheets, debris, damaged sheets and blow board where necessary.
- Oversee accurate and efficient transportation of board through to Print
· Working Practices
- Ensure compliance with all existing systems, standards and procedures within the area to satisfy both company and customer requirements – ISO quality, hygiene, health & safety and actively promote good practise.
- Assist in organising the workplace to achieve high standards of housekeeping, and report any problems/defects, maintenance or otherwise to the relevant personnel immediately.
- Contribute to optimising resources and working effectively within the department to meet operational needs, identifying improved methods of working as appropriate within existing agreements.
- Provide reasonable manning cover through optional overtime as necessary, to allow for continuing efficient operations within the department.
- Assist the Warehouse and Logistics Manager and Team Leader as directed in any other reasonable tasks, as required.
- Liaise closely with Team Leaders, Shift Leaders and Printers or resolves any issues and ensure production requirements are consistently met.
