Warehouse Operative

Great Bear is a leading 3rd party UK logistics business providing nationwide dedicated and shared user warehousing and distribution solutions for international blue chip clients. We operate in over 7 million sq. ft. of warehousing and operate a large modern commercial vehicle fleet, coupled with an extensive added value service offering.

Achieving successful and acceptable day to day operational performance, ensuring customer requirements are met at all times. To meet or exceed site KPI’s relating to the movement of pallets, ensuring that quality requirements, health and safety requirements and minimum efficiencies are met at all times

Attend work on a regular and timely basis.  Achieve and maintain the required level of work rate.  Follow instructions from your First Line Manager.  Report any signs that you are unwell or not able to carry out your duties.  Maintain good communication with First Line Managers.  Monitor and maintain housekeeping standards to the required levels.  Maintain Health and Safety via compliance with risk assessment guidelines ensuring that any issues are brought to the attention of the warehouse supervisor.  Constantly check the quality of all products to ensure that they meet the required standards with regard to:- 1. Health and Safety 2. Product quality (BRC) 3. Pallet standards 4. Accuracy  Ensure compliance with warehouse procedures for the reporting of damages and any signs of contamination.  Report any defects found on site in relation to the product, equipment or facilities to your First Line Manager.  Maintain a clean and tidy appearance and adhere to the Hygiene Policy at all times.  Be polite and courteous to your colleagues, visitors and visiting drivers, and all other site staff.  Be willing to undertake any aspect of warehouse work including FLT driving, order picking, manually loading/unloading containers and cleaning duties, as may be required to complete the daily schedule. Interfaces Internal  Liaise with Supervisor, and Employees at all levels within the business to continually improve compliance to the management systems.  Process and Quality Manager/Auditors.  Fleet Department, Drivers, Planners and Customer Services External  Awarding Bodies, enforcing authorities & other agencies or professional bodies.  Customer, Drivers

Qualifications: Good Standard of Literacy and Numeracy Experience: 2 years previous experience in a highly active warehouse
