About the Role:

At Wyre Forest DC we provide some of the most important front-line services to our residents through our Operational Services Teams based in Kidderminster. Domestic waste, Recycling, commercial and garden waste collections are part of the core functions at the very heart of our community.

We now have a unique career opportunity for an individual with the right credentials to lead these core waste service areas and ensure that the very high standards of service and excellence that our residents rightly demand and deserve are delivered.

As a service function that impacts every household and resident within the district, this is naturally a challenging and demanding role. It is also a very rewarding role that allows the right individual an opportunity to bring their skills and expertise to visibly develop and enhance this critical part of the operation that impacts all the residents in our area.

The right individual will have strong waste operational management skills and experience leading a large multi-functional team delivering the very highest standards of public service delivery. They will have a robust & resilient nature together with a can-do attitude that is able to drive the whole team to succeed. A confident and motivated individual who can lead from the front. In return the right person will be joining a highly energised and focussed team, who are very clear on their priorities and plans. This is a senior post within the team and attracts all the normal benefits of joining the local government family.

Special conditions of the Role:


Normal working hours are 37 hours per week, any 4 & 5 day working patterns apply from any 7 days.

A flexible approach to working hours is required, the post holder must be able to work outside normal office hours from time to time as the demands of the post and emergencies dictate. In addition to the out of hours rota. you may also be required to respond to out of hours call outs. Special working arrangements for Bank Holidays and Christmas working applies.

You may be required to provide a suitable vehicle in connection with the duties of this post.
