Medivet Poole 24 hour is our key hospital for the region and supports 9 local practices with around the clock care for our patients.
The opportunity is to covering whole weekends as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, supported by an amazing team of dedicated vets and nurses, alongside veterinary care assistants.
At Poole, we boast Laparoscopy , endoscopy, bronchoscopy, digital x-rays, an extensive lab suite, dog and cat wards with underfloor heating, an isolation ward, an intensive care ward, and a state of the art ultrasound machine. Our vets specialise in emergency critical care, full surgical skills and diagnostic imaging and cardiology.
The opportunity would suit a newly qualified nurse or someone looking to get back into veterinary nursing and looking to progress their career, or to fit around family life.

Role Accountabilities
Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have.
In this role you will:
- Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
- Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
- Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
- Deliver patient monitoring and care.
- Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
- Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
- Dispense and check medication.
- Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
- Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
Your Skills and Experience
- RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
- Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
- Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
- Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
- Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
