About the Role
There are 12 public libraries in the borough, all of them providing a range of services that meet the needs of their local communities. Library staff pride themselves on the high quality and welcoming service they are able to offer local people.
- Administration Skills: You will be responsible for all administrative tasks associated with the day-to-day functions of the libraries whilst prioritising a high workload and maintaining records.
- Communication Skills: you will be dealing with members of the public on a day to day basis via face to face communication, emails and telephone it is essential for you to have the ability to communicate clearly and proficiently.
- Confidence: You can confidently deal with challenging situations in a calm and effective manner.
- Organisation Skills: You will shelve and tidy stock, promoting it and helping customers choose books and ensuring that our collections are ordered, well-presented and accessible.
- IT/Systems: Do you have proven experience with eResources, social media and web applications as well as practical knowledge have a practical knowledge of a range of IT software and programs.
Shift patterns available either:
Saturday 9.30am - 4.00pm 5.5 hours Sunday 1.00pm - 5.00pm 4 hours
You may be required to work in any of the 12 libraries across the borough, so you will need to be flexible in your attitude to work.
