Looking for flexible, enthusiastic and friendly staff to join the team working in a local public library.
We require candidates with substantial experience of working in a public library. Experience of using a Library Management System and good IT skills. Excellent customer service and have experience of delivering library activities to children.
£16.35 p/h PAYE - £21.42 p/h Umbrella
Based near Caledonian Road
Full-time - 35 hours per week
Rota created on a fair, weekly basis, Between 09:00 - 20:00
Duties
- To provide high quality, customer focused Library and Heritage Services.
- Assisting in purchasing routines as necessary.
- Take responsibility for day-to-day management of a service point as required.
- Assist in staff training and supervision as necessary.
- Produce routine statistics as required, and other clerical and administrative duties as necessary.
- To carry out day to day duties connected with customer care and/or the maintenance and supply of stock as directed
- Public service routines including shelving, shelf tidying, using ICT to issue and discharge borrowed items, register new users, telephone answering, and using a till for calculating charges and giving change.
- To use and assist others in the use of information technology systems to carry out duties in the most efficient and effective manner
- Deal with enquiries by providing accurate information and by referring on to other sources or colleagues as appropriate.
- Carry out routine aspects of library interloans procedures.
We will complete an enhanced DBS, criminal background check, on your behalf.

Dealing with any clubs and social groups which may take place at the space, signing in and out books, answering queries and supporting those who may need assistance searching the library resources, answering phones and emails, face to face engagement with people, meet & greet, some basic IT
