Information Services (IS) is seeking to appoint a Senior Weekend IS Assistant with established library, IT and customer service skills. The successful candidate will contribute to the provision of a 1st line reference and enquiry service as part of the weekend Enquiry team.
Applicants should have experience of working in a library, information or IT support service in a customer-facing role, and a proven ability to deal with a variety of enquiries from University students, staff and visitors. The role is based within the Andersonian Library, a busy and vibrant academic environment where a broad variety of enquiries are presented. Knowledge and experience of library circulation, online services and software packages including Microsoft O365 and Outlook will be of benefit, alongside knowledge and understanding of wider University processes, procedures and systems,
The postholder will offer an excellent enquiry service directly to the customer, collaborate with colleagues throughout the Library, Information Services and the University, and be able to distinguish when onward referral of enquiries is appropriate.
You will work as part of a team, operating from 12:00-17:00, on a rota basis covering one Saturday in three.
