We are looking to recruit an Energy Caseworker to work on out Warmer Homes Advice and Money (WHAM) project. The role will be based in the project specific area: Bristol, B&NES and North Somerset. Working within our Household Energy Services (HES) team, the WHAM Energy Caseworker role is for those people who have two or more years’ experience of giving advice or helping others and can provide strong customer service, with personal resilience and boundaries.
You’ll need:

Pay and Conditions
- These are full-time posts (37.5 hours per week).
- The salary for this role will start at £25,953 rising to £28,520 upon completion of probation.
- You will be entitled to 25 days holiday plus statutory holidays.
- There will be a six-month probationary period.

Specific responsibilities include
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- Engage with households who need help with their energy issues.
- Improve the wellbeing and safeguarding of households in fuel poverty whose health conditions are exacerbated by living in a cold home.
- Share the learning from our work with other practitioners who wish to build on best practice.
- To refer households to other support organisations in the area as appropriate for further support.
- To give advice to people in their own homes.
- To deliver complex casework and home visits with minimal support.
- To support CSE volunteers and interns.
Essential attributes for this role include:
- Minimim Maths and English GCSE or equivalent.
- Experience of giving advice.
- Experience of customer service.
- Experience of taking a lead on the delivery and coordination of projectbased activity.
- Ability to respond to vulnerable clients in a respectful and engaging manner.
- Ability to present complex information in an accessible and appropriate manner.
- Ability to work in a team and able to identify areas where their skills complement others.
- Ability to maintain admin systems independently and accurately.
- Able to work independently and use own initiative.
- Highly organised at managing time and workload.
- Skilled in use of MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
