They now have an opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic CNC Machinist to join their team in their Romsey Head Office, helping people and making a real impact by manufacturing lifting equipment (stairlifts, through-floor lifts, and platform lifts) vital to their everyday life.
About The Role:
The Workshop General Hand is a support role for the raw material manufacture work centres. General workshop activities in order to facilitate a smooth process flow through raw material manufacture. Occasionally the candidate may be required to support other departments.
Responsibilities:
To follow the instructions and training given. Carry out all tasks as requested in a timely manner and adhere to all Company policies not least the Health & Safety Policy. To maintain high quality standards. Machine maintenance checks, safety checks to manage risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Manufacturing Manager, Supervisors, Leading Hand and other employees to ensure good work flow through the work centres.
- Maintain good housekeeping, ensure that the work areas and equipment are clean, organized and safe.
- Fully support lean manufacturing principles / processes.
- Complying with health & safety, environmental and quality policy and requirements.
- Maintaining equipment maintenance and safety checks. Check sheets are completed prior to commencement of work.
- To promote and conduct good Health & Safety practices and a duty of care for yourself and all others around you in line with the Company policy and ISO 45001 management system.
- Ensure that all work is clearly and correctly identified, has the correct accompanying paperwork/work cards and is completed using an electronic swipe or manually to ensure stock accuracy at all times.
- Ensure that the first off inspection process is upheld using the correct item drawing and work processed in line with the Operator Quality Control Manual.
- Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times.
- Any reasonable request
Candidate Requirements:
Punctual and reliable. A can-do team player. A quick learner and physically fit, accurate and efficient with a keen eye for quality and pride in ones work. Good command of the English language, written and verbal. Respectful of all work colleagues and management. Must be pleasant natured and able to integrate into a happy team environment. Must be numerate and able to perform material stock checks when required with accuracy. Must be flexible and able to work overtime when required. Willing to perform other reasonable duties within capabilities and learn new tasks that may assist the department and colleagues
Technical Skills:
Previous experience in a similar role would be a distinct advantage however training will be given to the successful candidate.
Previous Forklift, pallet truck operating experience.
