Workshop Controller Position - Leicester Main Dealership

• Basic Salary up to £35,000
• Plus bonus Scheme OTE £40,000
• Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00 (30 mins lunch)
• Saturday rota, 08:30-12:30

My client, a reputable automotive dealership located in Leicester, is seeking a dedicated Workshop Controller to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of a busy and successful Service Department within a family-run establishment.
This is a hands on role, meaning you will spend time on the tools as well as managing the workshop. Therefore, a wealth of technical experience is required.
Workshop Controller Role:
As a Workshop Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the workshop, focusing on improving customer experience, efficiency, and minimising costs.
Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting Personal Service Technicians (PSTs) in the workshop
• Effective production planning and scheduling, adhering to workshop standards
• Conducting daily meetings and following up on team KPIs
• Identifying improvement areas and implementing measures to achieve objectives
• Pre-checking and following the daily planning for the team
• Providing first-line support and assistance to the team
• Coaching and supporting PSTs with technical and administrative issues
• Coordinating improvement work in the workshop and tracking progress

Workshop Controller Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Repair and Maintenance or equivalent qualification
• Previous experience as a Technician or Workshop Controller preferred
• Strong coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
• Understanding of the customer service process, including parts and sales
• Ability to identify problems at root cause and plan effective solutions
• Availability for Saturday rota shifts and flexibility during holiday periods
