Jewson Southend-on-Sea is on the hunt for a full time Yard Operative who's as passionate about great service as we are.
Hours: 7.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 7.30am-12pm
Location: Stock Rd, Southend-on-Sea SS2 5QB
Key Responsibilities of a Yard Operative:
Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
Get to know our product lines so you can offer advice and help to customers, making the most of all customer interactions
Pick a high number of customer orders throughout the day and load these onto customer vehicles, providing efficient service while maintaining health & safety focus
Load and unload our Jewson delivery vehicles using a Forklift Truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided)
Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, to make a great first impression on our customers
Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work
Required Skills and Experience:
Previous industry experience preferred but not essential
Stellar communication and people skills
Customer focussed individual
Confident working both indoors and outdoors
Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items and happy to undergo forklift training
