Pay: £95.12 - $114 Per day Umbrella
We are partnering with a successful and committed primary school in the Borough of Merton. The school is seeking SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in providing dedicated support for a child in Year 2 with complex autism needs.
The School:
Known for as one of five that are specifically for children who have Autism and social communication needs. The school aims to provide a structured environment that is small, welcoming and inclusive.
The role is a full time role working along side another SEN teaching Assistant. Pay is commensurate with main teaching pay scale - Outer London. The successful applicant should be enthusiastic and ambitious, and would be interested in developing their role.
Child's Needs:
- The child is non-verbal and has developmental, communication, personal, and emotional skills approximately equivalent to an 18-month-old.
- The child exhibits some risky behaviors.
- The child is not yet able to use visuals and relies on objects of reference for communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement activities designed by the class teacher and therapists.
- Work alongside a support worker, taking the lead in this staff pairing to ensure the child receives consistent and effective support.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students
