We're excited to welcome 2 dedicated Young Persons Transitional Worker to our vibrant Croydon hub!
One role will be a 50:50 split Transitional and u18 with focus on Further Education e.g. colleges

Our Croydon service is a vibrant, collaborative team, comprising a dedicated lineup that includes a service manager, consultant psychiatrists, medical professionals, compassionate nurses, attentive healthcare assistants, empathetic recovery staff, passionate volunteers, efficient administrators, and supportive peer mentors.

Salary: £27,449.53 - £31,529.41 plus Outer London Weighting (£2,080.07)
Responsibilities:

About the role:
  • Working as a Young Persons Transitional Worker for CGL Croydon is both rewarding and challenging.
  • You'll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to supporting young people in navigating the complexities of transitioning to adulthood while dealing with substance misuse issues.
  • In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young individuals, offering them guidance, support, and encouragement as they strive to overcome obstacles and build a brighter future.
  • Each day brings new experiences and interactions with young people from diverse backgrounds, each facing their unique set of challenges.
  • You'll provide crucial support in various areas, including education, employment, housing, and mental health, helping young individuals develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
  • Your work will involve building trusting relationships with young people, empowering them to take control of their lives and make positive choices.
  • You'll collaborate closely with other professionals, including service managers, medical professionals, recovery staff, and peer mentors, to ensure a holistic approach to support.
  • While the role can be demanding, requiring flexibility, empathy, and resilience, the impact you'll have on the lives of young people and the satisfaction of seeing them progress and thrive make it incredibly fulfilling. To excel in this role, you will:
  • Demonstrate extensive experience in substance use intervention
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with advanced IT proficiency
  • Showcase proactive and self-directed behavior, with outstanding time management and prioritization skills
  • Be proficient in mental health interventions and best practices
  • Exhibit collaborative and supportive teamwork, with strong interpersonal abilities
  • Serve as a passionate advocate for change, consistently prioritizing the needs of service users
  • Maintain a commitment to upholding information governance processes and ensuring the application of necessary safeguards
