Community Education delivers workshops to support people to become more resilient and empowered to help those around them, resulting in more kind and inclusive communities. We ask that you: - Are available to help for up to 8 hours per moth (1 day per week approximately). - Can commit to helping us for a minimum of 9 months. - Driving is preferable, but not essential. - Experience of facilitation is preferable, but not essential. Volunteering days and times could vary week-in-week. Please note as part of this role you will be expected to travel up to one hour to venues to deliver 'well-being' workshops - They build confidence in volunteer and participants alike, but the workshops themselves are for well-being and resilience. Workshops can take place at various times, usually between 9am and 5pm during the week. You will be required to carry learning materials or light-weight training equipment. If you have previous experience that’s great, but we will give full training and support if you are passionate about this and want to get involved. We ask that you can commit to this role and to working through the role induction. 70% of the learning will be done practically, along with some online learning modules, with a view to be independently delivering one of our workshops within 3 months of joining Community Education. We will provide you with all training resources, and we will support you by providing opportunities for observations, feedback, and training. Diversity is something we celebrate. We want you to be able to bring your authentic self to the Red Cross and feel that you belong. We want to create an inclusive environment, and promote and spread the power of kindness. As part of creating an inclusive space we have an expenses policy that prioritises volunteers not being out of pocket for expenses linked to your role. If up front costs are difficult, you can speak to your volunteering manager about this to find alternatives. We welcome refugees, asylum seekers and others currently in the UK to volunteer with us. We want volunteering to be accessible to everyone. We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety, and we will also have a conversation with you to discuss any adjustments you may need. Please contact volunteerrecruitment@redcross.org.uk if you have any questions about the role.
