This unique position has arisen in the heart of West Sussex on a 500 acre estate.

The position requires working within a small team that provides residential support and care in a safe environment for up 40 young people in the evenings.

At least two years’ experience and understanding of dealing with vulnerable and challenging young people is required, encouraging positive behaviour and development of life skills. Knowledge of Safeguarding and Health and Safety desirable although training will be given.

Duties will also include providing and supervising on-site and off-site activities such as water sports, cinema, bowling, sports, music and crafts etc. plus shop trips; sharing health and wellbeing ideas. Core duties also include monitoring behaviour and dealing with drug testing and disciplinary action when required.

The role will involve working a three week rota ie Week 1 = 57.75 hours, Week 2 = 38.25 hours (both weeks begin by working a Sunday night and the following Monday) and Week 3 you will be off. The basic working structure is through the evening, staying overnight and one or 2.5 hours the next morning depending on the rota week.

The successful candidate will be offered holiday and sickness cover shifts for two other staff and a candidate who wants extra shifts in this vein would be highly desirable. The post will include some lone working and monitoring security of the estate and properties overnight.

Salary will be in the range of £16. per hour depending on experience, plus an overnight rate of £50 per night. You will be included in a good company pension and private health care and meals are provided when on duty.

This position is subject to a DBS check paid for by the company and clean driving licence. Due to our remote location own transport is recommended.
