Skills Needed:
1. System Administration:
- Proficient in managing servers, operating systems, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra, 365, and associated portals.
2. Network Infrastructure:
- Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Ability to troubleshoot network issues and configure network devices.
- Experience with Draytek and Unifi products is a distinct advantage.
3. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
- Excellent analytical skills to identify the root cause of complex technical issues.
- Efficient problem-solving capabilities.
- Documentation of resolved issues to optimize future ticket times.
4. Scripting and Automation:
- Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
5. Security and Compliance:
- Strong knowledge of security principles, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with security protocols, access controls, and vulnerability management.
- Experience with Security, Endpoint Manager, and Compliance Policy portal is a distinct advantage.
6. Project Management:
- Effective project management skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute projects independently.
- Coordination with stakeholders to manage timelines and resources effectively.
7. Documentation:
- Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and training materials.
- Delivery of training and implementation materials for junior engineers.
Desired Experience:
Essential:
- At least 2 years of experience in an IT role.
- Good understanding of general Windows server, storage, and networking technologies.
Desirable:
- Experience of working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
