Accountant

Based in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire our client is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

This job would suit a driven and strong-minded individual with a good, rounded knowledge across management counts, Audit and VAT, along with the drive and ambition to grow and develop within an ever-changing and progressive business.

Our client has an extensive UK and overseas client base. They are looking to enhance the skill set in their team and therefore need a talented individual to join them as a Accountant reporting directly to the finance Director.

The successful individual will have excellent communication skills and strong organisational skills. Good IT skills are essential for this role, including Word and Excel. This role is based in the office 5 days a week so being local with the means of transport will be required.

Job responsibilities:

• Undertake daily bank reconciliations on all bank accounts.
• Compile Sales and Purchase Invoices/payments and update accounts system
• Support Finance director in driving the business forward
• Maintain stock book movements and stock book master files. Update
• Putting sales and purchase payments on the bank within the same day
• Preparation of draft monthly management accounts, including journals, intercompany adjustments, reconciliations.
• To reconcile Balance Sheet Control Accounts monthly
• Maintain month and year end file of the main balance sheet accounts
• Process and post monthly petty cash, credit card and expenses.
• Prepare data for year-end audit
• Pension Fund invoicing and keeping records
