Our client based near Bury St Edmunds, is searching for an Accounting Assistant to join their well-established team. The successful candidate will be assisting in the financial management and record keeping of the company. You will be performing various tasks related to bookkeeping, financial reporting and ad hoc tasks which would include data analysis. Previous experience within logistics/transport/industrial environment desirable. Due to the location of the role, a drivers licence and access to your own vehicle will be essential.
Main duties and responsibilities, (including but not limited to):
* Printing off daily bank statements and processing any movements on to Sage 200
* Authorising and processing of payments via online banking
* Preparing the spreadsheets and paperwork for the Accountants for the monthly management accounts
* Posting of journals, depreciation, accruals, and prepayments
* Processing of self-bill invoices received from Customers and keeping all spreadsheets updated
* Dealing with invoice queries from customers and suppliers
* Raising monthly invoices for weighbridge usage, parking, fuel drawings and electricity
* Reconciliation of bank accounts
* Processing Barclaycard monthly statements
* Reconciliation of PAYE and NIC monthly payments
* Running VAT returns and paying HMRC on a quarterly basis
* Assisting other team members when required
* Covering for other team members when they are on holiday; Purchase Ledger, Storage and Payroll
* Raising intercompany re-charge invoices for labour usage
* Reconciliation of intercompany ledgers
* Ordering of stationary
* Various other ad-hoc duties

* Previous experience within a accounting/bookkeeping role necessary
* Previous experience within logistics/transport/industrial environment desired but not essential
