Assistant Accountant

We pleased to announce that due to Company growth, we are now looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our amazing Finance team, within our central services function. This full-time position plays a crucial role in supporting the preparation of financial reports and analysis, for both Oxford Innovation Space and our clients.  Oxford Innovation Space operates a network of innovation centres that provide flexible workspace including offices and workshop facilities and business support services to companies throughout the UK.  Our clients are start-ups, high growth SMEs, investors and also public sector organisations that contract with us to deliver innovation centres and programmes to business. 

The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager. The Assistant Accountant will work alongside the Management Accountant and two Accounts Assistants. The Assistant Accountant should expect to work directly and closely with the centre management teams, our clients and members of the senior management team.

Main Objectives of the role:

• To produce timely, accurate financial and management information for Oxford Innovation Space and our clients.
• To prepare, develop and analyse key financial information to ensure that the organisation’s management makes well-informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth and profitability whilst establishing and maintaining financial policies and management information systems.
• To assist in the management of compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, identifying risks and providing solutions and recommendations in mitigating against those risks.

Essential experience:

• AAT / CAT Qualified / Studier and / or experience of similar roles.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Excellent communication and management skills.
• Strong analytical skills with a natural enjoyment of data interrogation and interpretation.
