Job description

An experienced Accounts and Administration Assistant is needed to join the team at this leading electrical cable installation company based in Devon on a full-time basis. 

Daily duties include answering calls for reception, booking accommodation for site teams, raising purchase orders for materials using Xero Accounting software, data entry of purchase invoices, assisting with staff training and vehicle maintenance scheduling.

You will need to be a proficient communicator with the ability to work independently on a wide range of tasks and be open to learning new skills and taking on new responsibilities.

About the Role

They are looking for a bright and diligent Accounts and Administrative Assistant to help with the smooth running of their office. This position is ideal for someone who likes working with people and information. 

Their preferred candidate will be personable, courteous, and relish the challenge of keeping a busy office organised and efficient.

About the Company

They specialise in installing (HV) high voltage and (LV) low voltage cables. This includes trenching, cable pulling, ground stabilisation, solar reinstatement, solar roadways and wind turbine access roads. 

They hold NERS accreditation from low voltage up to 132kv. 

They also complete civil works for concrete substation plinths and generator bases, providing general groundworks, track installations and concrete processing.

Required Experience:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel)
  • Good written and verbal English
  • Excellent manner

Desired Experience:

  • A highly organised approach and attention to detail
  • Experience in office administration
  • A determination to do your best work all of the time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answering and diverting calls in the office
  • Raising purchase orders for delivery of materials to site
  • Invoice processing
  • Booking of hotels for site staff
  • Booking and management of staff training
  • General assistance to the Director and staff
