Accounts Assistant - Subcontract Ledger

Based just on the outskirts of Portsmouth, the company are a long-established and highly respected Mechanical Building Services Contractor operating within the construction industry, and an excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant.

We require someone with experience working for a Mechanical/M&E Building Services contractor, or a Construction company who has a good understanding of the CIS scheme, knowledge of Domestic reverse charge VAT, excellent attention to detail, knowledge/experience of computerised accounts systems and Microsoft Office.

Accounts Assistant - Subcontract Ledger - Key Duties include:

• Set up of new Bona Fide Subcontractors on Construction Manager and Sage Accounts 50
• Subcontractor compliance (relevant insurances H&S Quality)
• Verification of subcontractor with HMRC as part of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) rules
• Input of Subcontractor invoices/applications on Construction Manager
• Accuracy and attention to detail in respect of monetary sums, job numbers, cost codes and dates
• Ability to spot potential errors / queries during input process
• Set up payless notices for each valuation/invoice received. Issue to BFSC on authorisation.
• Obtain authorisation of documentation with Contract Managers
• Liaison with BFSC on queries/disputes
• Certification of Invoices and Applications
• Monthly statement reconciliations
• Subcontractor payment preparation and reports
• Monthly CIS return
• Maintenance / monitor of our Subcontractor retentions and valuations log

Accounts Assistant - £26,000 to £29,000 depending on experience, Benefits include:
