Pertemps Exeter are working with a top Accountancy Practice who are currently seeking a motivated Accounts Assistant to work on a permanent basis alongside their team in Axminster.
The Role:
You will prepare financial information, reports and returns for a wide range of clients, both businesses and individuals, whilst also using computer software to record financial transactions. You will undertake both practical and theoretical training whilst potentially studying for qualification. The mix of work and study will depend on what you bring to the table.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare financial statements, bookkeeping and tax computations.
- File documents on client's behalf and providing administrative support.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Flexible assignments in office and client premises.
- Assist with preparation and completion of VAT returns.
- Provide administrative support to Partners, Managers, and office staff.
Requirements:
- Positive, friendly, and personable.
- Previous experience working in a practice-based environment.
- Computer proficiency and willingness to train.
Preferred but non-essential:
- Resilient, able to multi-task and work independently / flexibly.
- Adaptable and organised.
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Professional and team orientated in approach.
- Good working knowledge of accounting software.
- Ability to learn new IT skills quickly.
Starting Salary - 23,500
