SalaryNXTGEN is supporting an expanding and high growth market leading business based near Attleborough in their search for an Accounts Assistant. This new role will take ownership for the transactional aspects of Finance, processing all Accounts Payable and Receivable invoices within the system, ensuring all match with the relevant PO number. The Accounts Assistant will also have direct contact with suppliers and customers to ensure payments are processed and managed in a timely fashion. This is an incredibly fast paced business where things can change quickly so the successful candidate will need to be agile and flexible in their approach to tasks. You will also have responsibility for reconciling the ledgers and also bank accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information. As the company continues to grow and expand, the Accounts Assistant will also have the opportunity to support with some month end close activities too.
Key responsibilities within the role will include:
- Delivery of accounts payable and receivable tasks, including invoice processing and payment collection.
- Reconcile accounts and supplier statements as well as company bank accounts to ensure accuracy
- Deal with high volumes of supplier and customer invoice queries
- Support with the month end close including some journal activities
- Support with financial analysis and some reporting requirements at month end
The successful candidate will ideally be AAT qualified with prior experience in a similar Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant role. Those candidates who are qualified by experience with a background in a similar role are encouraged to apply too. You will be confident using Excel and cloud accounting software, with an ability to work with great accuracy. Excellent communication skills are essential given the fast paced and supplier/customer facing nature of this role.
