SalaryCedar has partnered with a global manufacturing business. They are urgently searching for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their organisation.
Salary: £33,000
Location: Bloomsbury, London (Hybrid)
Start date: ASAP
This is a temp to perm role supporting the Finance Manager by ensuring systems are updated and maintained whilst preparing management accounts within agreed time lines and complete statutory submissions.
Sales Ledger processing
* Credit Control using agreed escalation process and saving communication in CRM
* Review and reconcile the Sales Ledger control account investigating outstanding items
* Prepare and distribute customer statements
* Manage Customer records including new account set up in Finance package
* Reconcile and close ledger each month
* Prepare information for bi-monthly MAG meeting
Purchase Ledger processing
* Invoices / Credit Notes processed in using the Purchase Order policy
* Raise Purchase Orders when required
* Resolve queries with users including how to use the systems
* Follow up invoice authorisations in a timely manner
* Process monthly payment run, ad hoc and cashbook payments / receipts
* Review and reconcile the Purchase Ledger control account investigating outstanding items
* Supplier statement reconciliation
Controllership
* Balance Sheet and sub ledger reconciliations
* Prepare quarterly Management accounts for review by Finance Manager
* Prepare and submit VAT and Corporation Tax returns
* Identify areas for improving existing systems and processes
* Update weekly cash-flow forecast
Required Skills:
* Demonstratable accounting knowledge in both purchase and sales ledger
* Experience of working for a trade association or similar member-led organisation would be desirable
* Experience of VAT submissions (MUST)
* Experience with Dimensions, Focal Point, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
* Good communicator
* Diligent with a good attention to detail
