Accounts Assistant / Credit Controller

Samco Silicone Products are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant / Credit Controller to join our finance team. This role is integral to the smooth running of our business operations, ensuring that cash flow is maintained, and accounts are managed efficiently. The salary is £23-27k per annum (full time rate relating to 40 hours, approx £11-£13 /hr), pro rata for the hours worked, which will initially be 3 days a week (24 hours).

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the company's accounts receivable ledger, ensuring timely payment of debts.
• Communicate effectively with customers to chase up outstanding invoices and resolve any billing issues.
• Perform credit checks on potential new customers, setting and maintaining credit limits.
• Produce customer statements and duplicate customer invoices as needed
• Agree purchase invoices to orders / delivery notes and post to accounting system
• Support the accounts team with other duties, as needed

Requirements

• AAT qualification (or working towards it) is preferred but not essential.
• Previous experience in a credit control or Accounts Assistant role.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Proficiency in accounting software preferably Sage
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
