Accounts Assistant

We are working with a progressive and friendly firm of Chartered Accountants, who due to continued growth, are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team in Taunton. They are accomplished specialists in their field and have an incredibly supportive culture meaning staff retention is very high.
The ideal candidate will be AAT Qualified, or qualified by experience, from a practice background with strong bookkeeping skills, and a good working knowledge of accountancy software such as Xero, Quickbooks and Sage.
Main Duties
The main duties (but not limited to) are the following: -
• Undertaking bookkeeping for clients
• Data entry
• Purchase & Sales Legder
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
• Bank reconciliations
• Processing payroll for clients
The successful candidate:
Ideally the successful candidate will have the following attributes, skills, experience and
qualifications.
• A positive attitude, friendly and personable
• AAT Qualified (Qualified by Experience considered)
• Experience of working in practice is essential
• Knowledge of cloud software – Xero & Quickbooks
• Experience in liaising with clients and HMRC
•Strong double entry bookkeeping skills
