Surgery and Cancer Directorate are seeking a dynamic, proactive and highly motivated individuals to join the administrative and clerical team. Our team provide a wide range of specialist and general services for adults. We offer services at St Mary’s, Charing Cross, Hammersmith and Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea hospitals.
The post holders will be a members of the General & Vascular Surgery Management Team and will be responsible for the day to day management of medical staffing rotas across the department, working on their own initiative to identify and resolve issues, taking action as deemed appropriate. The post holder will coordinate, log and monitor all types of leave for medical staff, including consultants.
Specific responsibilities will include acting as the first point of contact for issues related to medical staff including sickness reporting, annual leave, study leave, shift swaps and organising locum cover. This will include providing effective management of trainee/junior doctors, ensuring effective planning and implementation of local inductions and training days.
The post holders will co-ordinate and administer all recruitment in the department. They will work with the medical team to ensure Statutory and Mandatory compliance within the service.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering operational standards within the department.
Specific responsibilities will include the management of the services administration team, effectively managing outpatient clinics to ensure they are in line with agreed service policies and implementing actions to ensure that the service can maintain its National and Trust referral to treatment (RTT) targets, escalating any concerns for support as required.
The post holder will be expected to work closely with colleagues and provide support where needed including cover during periods of leave. The role will be expected to work on multiple sites as and when required, the main base being St Mary’s Hospital.
