New ways to improve the patient experience
Our administration and customer service hubs are organised by specialties which include Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, ENT and Ophthalmology. Each team is responsible for all appointment bookings, from the first Outpatient visit, to surgery and post-operative reviews and includes liaison with referrers and external providers of diagnostic services. There is a high level of patient contact over the telephone and in reception areas. You will be overseeing and line-managing a team of approximately 10 administrators.
Providing leadership and direction to the hospital patient admissions team whilst undertaking a hands on functional role within the team. To agree the structure and functions of the admissions team in line with the Deputy Manager /Theatre Manager and the team to facilitate effective delivery of the key admissions processes.
To be responsible for the admissions team people management including recruitment, induction, management of annual leave and absence, team meetings and communication, staff development and training and succession planning. Ensuring management of all aspects of the patient processes are completed at all stages of the pathway seamlessly and smoothly.
What you'll be doing
- At least 2 years previous managerial/ Team Leader administration experience in a health care setting
- Strong administration and organisation skills
- Experience of people and performance management Sound knowledge and understanding of IT and software packages (Word/Excel)
- Excellent Communication skills (Written and Phone)
