Job description
The Wales Centre for Public Policy (WCPP) is a research centre in Cardiff University. It works closely with Welsh Government Ministers and public service leaders, providing them with high quality, independent evidence that helps them to tackle some of the most pressing economic, environmental and social challenges currently facing Wales. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Administrative Officer to join our dedicated Professional Services team. Working with our Centre Manager, you will support all aspects of the Centre’s administrative processes. You will have an ability to work flexibly as part of the Centre’s team of 24 staff providing support to all aspects of the Centre’s administration, with a particular emphasis upon communications and finance. The WCPP’s innovative approach has gained national and international recognition, and our funding has recently been renewed for a further five years until 2028. The post therefore offers the opportunity to join us at a particularly exciting time and to contribute directly to its continued success. The Centre offers a stimulating and supportive working environment as a valued member of a highly motivated and collegiate team. You will be based in the new Social Science Research Park (SPARK) on Cardiff University’s £300 million Innovation Campus and benefit from flexible working arrangements, a generous pension scheme and other benefits, and access to the university’s extensive training and professional development programmes. The post is available full-time for 18 months in the first instance with the possibility of renewal thereafter, subject to the availability of funding. We will consider applications to join the Centre on secondment for a minimum of 18 months. Salary: £26,444 - £29,605 per annum (Grade 4). For an informal discussion about the role please contact Jude Langdon (jude.langdon@wcpp.org.uk). Closing date: Sunday, 28 January 2024 Cardiff University is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity and to creating an inclusive working environment. We believe this can be achieved through attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse range of staff from many different backgrounds who have the ambition to create a University which seeks to fulfil our social, cultural and economic obligation to Cardiff, Wales, and the world. In supporting our employees to achieve a balance between their work and their personal lives, we will also consider proposals for flexible working or job share arrangements. Cardiff Business School is particularly looking to recruit from under-represented groups within the School.
