Where care and support are required, we work to ensure that this reflects the individual’s assessed needs and strengths while promoting their independence, choice and control. We encourage positive risk taking with a ‘home is best’ philosophy, this is reflected in our performance as Telford and Wrekin is proud to have a lower than national average per population of admissions into long term placements for older people.
We are proud to offer a working environment that is supportive and rewarding, where professional curiosity is actively encouraged, while working as part of a team who are passionate about the work they do. We offer great training and development options to all roles. We have a supportive management team which encourages critical reflection/supervision and structured progression routes for Social Workers from ASYE to Advanced Practitioners.
In addition to competitive rates of pay we offer an excellent benefits package to all of our employees; a generous annual leave and flexible working arrangements (to include mobile/home working), Local Government Pension scheme and payment of Social Work England registration fees. For further information please contact Tara Canfer-Taylor, Team Leader on 01952 567260 or tara.canfer-taylor@telford.gov.uk.
Please note employees who are at risk will be considered first for this position. Only if an appointment is not made will other candidates be considered.
At Telford & Wrekin Council, we know that having a diverse workforce is key to providing the best possible services to our community. We celebrate having a diverse and inclusive culture where people are able to be themselves at work, and everyone has a voice.
