Salary We have an opportunity for an Advanced nurse practitioner or Advanced clinical practitioner to work within the Cardiothoracic Surgical team as we expand our service to eight Cardiothoracic surgeons.
The Cardiothoracic Unit at RWT is a forward thinking unit which has been in the top 3 nationally for mortality rates.
The role of ANP is ward based and was developed to replace FY1 doctors working both independently and along side our Consultant team you will utilise your specialist knowledge to plan treatment for patients post Cardiothoracic surgery, managing deteriorating patients and emergency situations.
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining, improving and developing high standards through education and training and will be required to work flexibly to cover a seven day service.
Ideally applicants will hold a specialist qualification and have experience within Cardiothoracic surgery however developmental posts may be considered.
The successful candidate will work within the team planning treatment for pre and post operative Cardiac and Thoracic surgical patients. Providing a resource of specialist knowledge through education of junior staff.
Utilising health assessment skills to admit and discharge patients as well as management of deteriorating patients. The post holder will ideally hold a non-medical prescribing qualification. They will request patient tests and interpret results to make decisions in patient treatment.
