Job Description
As Affiliates Manager, you’ll define and realise our affiliate strategy, establishing and nurturing our affiliate networks and direct partnerships to ensure that our audiences can readily purchase the right travel products and services via our digital content and digital marketing. You’ll be a commercially astute self-starter, who thrives as part of a tight team and essentially, you’ll be passionate about innovation and affiliates in ecommerce.
The team: Situated within News UK’s commercial Travel team, the Travel Partnerships team is tasked with driving consumer revenues through selling holidays and travel services to News UK audiences using travel expertise, data and innovation, thus, creating the foundations for future revenue streams.
You will report into the Head of Partnerships and work closely with individuals from the team, as well as, key stakeholders from the business, including, our industry leading Editorial Travel team.
The role is responsible for two Affiliate Executives.
What you’ll do
Meet and exceed eCommerce revenue targets for Travel Partnerships
Review and refine the affiliate network identifying, negotiating, onboarding and nurturing relationships with direct affiliates, direct partners and affiliate aggregators
Ensure our existing and new affiliate partners have a great experience working with News UK, with smooth processes from contract management, product development, to ongoing account management
Work with the Travel and Editorial teams to design and optimise ecommerce journeys to create a high quality user experience that best meets user and affiliate needs
Assist with optimising the evergreen content commissioning plans to maximise affiliate revenues
Health check our existing publisher accounts on networks like AWIN, CJ, Rakuten, Partnerize, Impact, and ShareASale.
Manage the affiliate portfolio to realise its full revenue potential and ensuring our commercial and editorial teams are equipped for maximum success
Ensure campaign tracking is at all times correctly deployed and up-to-date
Analyse affiliate performance providing insight for content optimisation and product strategy
Control invoicing and billing for affiliate and ensure accurate, up to date revenue reporting
Create reports for internal teams and external partners
Key Skills
A good understanding, and direct experience of the affiliate landscape: publishers, merchants, networks
Direct experience working within the travel affiliate sector, with relevant industry contacts
High level of understanding of suppliers and products across the travel sector
Proven experience of partner acquisition
An entrepreneurial mindset
Highly commercial and with proven success in driving partner revenues
A strong self starter who is motivated by ambitious targets
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage and lead a team
Sales and account management experience & excellent negotiation skills
Experience in commercial contract management
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively
Publishing experience is preferred but not required
A team player who likes to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in
