JOB TITLE: Agency Account Manager

DEPARTMENT: Commercial Operations

The Agency Account Manager is the owner of commercial 360 campaigns from pitch to completion. The AM is responsible for the campaign products proposed to support the creative idea and brief as well as overseeing the whole campaign execution and activation for pitches they worked on as well as campaigns planned by Media Planning Managers. The Agency AM works on a set of accounts in support of either Client Direct or Independents.

ABOUT THE ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pre-Sale:

  • Interrogate the advertiser’s brief and ensure all information is available to answer the brief.
  • Attend brainstorm where needed to ensure the idea can be reflected in a campaign strategy.
  • Propose the right products and advise on technical feasibility, production and media costs, past campaign performance, audiences and client insight in order to create a plan that meets and exceeds the client expectations.
  • Provide a 360 degree knowledge of Hearst products, services and ensure all client requests are met.
  • Brief in Media Planning team on the new opportunity to go in the planning and booking system.
  • Uphold the Hearst Commercial business rules and principles. Work with our Production team to ensure any bespoke costs are included in the plan and uphold our cost of sale rule for all plans that leave the business. If a media plan requires special approval from Yield, the AM is responsible for contacting Yield and outlining what approval is needed.
  • AM is responsible for the profitability of the proposal put forward to the client.
  • Attend relevant sales hub meetings to stay close to agency spending and pitches to support & help drive targets.
  • Where applicable, Account Manager creates a Marcomms Schedule and/or Strategy Phasing Proposal to demonstrate how the campaign will be delivered to help close the sale.

Strategy & Communication:

  • AM will support internal communication with Paid Media and Data teams for media targeting recommendations.
  • AM will support internal communication with Research for research recommendations
  • AM will support internal communication with Ad Product for new product process/specifications.

Post-Sale:

  • AM is responsible for reviewing IO, PO and briefing in the Project Manager to take over the project in production phase.
  • AM must chase sales contact IO/PO if not received.
  • AM attends internal kick off to ensure campaign is fully handed over to Project Manager.
  • AM is overseeing the project while in production to support Project Manager with any challenges relating to the client and media plan.
  • Once campaign is live the AM is monitoring and reporting back to the client, whilst discussing any relevant optimisations with Technical Account Management and Paid Media Teams.
  • AM is responsible for the Post Campaign Analysis that will be presented back to the client.
  • AM should focus on upselling commercial campaigns.
