Your new role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with some experience in an accounts team, looking to break into Management Accounts. Reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance, this is an apprenticeship role, with 8 hours a week spent studying towards a professional qualification. You will be interacting with multiple stakeholders, with responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Preparation and importing of journals
- Coordination of the Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of the quarterly VAT return
- Assisting in external reporting
- Responsible for Monthly payroll reconciliations
- Quarterly preparation of year end information
- Supporting Head of Commercial Finance with audit preparation
- Posting of Sales ledger incoming bank receipts
- Preparation of fortnightly Aged Debt Report and coordination of credit control
- Liaising with key stakeholders, department heads and colleagues to support with preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Assist with variance, sales and costs analysis
- Preparation of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns
- Assisting finance business partners with monthly management accounts and any other duties
What you\'ll need to succeed
You will have some experience in an accounts team, and the desire to step up into a month end role. You\'ll bring excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working individually and as part of a team. You will need experience on Excel (sumifs, VLOOKUP) and the ability to learn Accountancy software quickly. You will embody the values of the organisation, including compassion, honesty and integrity. You must have a plan to commute reliably to Brighton, and the desire to commit to studying your exams as part of an apprenticeship scheme.
